Browsing the marketplace

The marketplace is where you find and evaluate applications available on the Clouve platform. This guide covers how the marketplace is organized and what to check before you deploy.

Accessing the marketplace

From the Clouve dashboard, click Marketplace in the main navigation. You'll see a catalog of available applications organized by category.

Understanding marketplace listings

Each application listing shows:

ElementWhat it tells you
IconVisual identifier for the application

VersionThe current version available for deployment
DescriptionWhat the application does and who it's for
CategoryThe type of application (CMS, CRM, LMS, etc.)
DeveloperWho packaged and maintains this app on Clouve

Application categories

Applications are grouped by category:

Single apps vs bundles

Most marketplace listings are single applications: one software product, one URL.

Bundles are curated packages of complementary applications deployed together:

  • Education Kit: a Learning Management System and a School Management System, reachable at separate URLs but deployed and managed as a unit
  • CRM Kit: several CRM-related tools working together

A bundle is a good choice when you need tools that are designed to work together and don't want to deploy and link them yourself.

Evaluating an application

Before deploying, click an application listing to view its full details.

Questions to ask

Does it do what we need? Read the full description. Most marketplace apps are well-known open-source products, so you can search for them online to find user reviews, documentation, and community resources.

Is it the right version? The version shown is the one currently available. Check the application's official documentation to see what that version includes.

What are the resource requirements? The application's resource footprint (computing power, memory, storage) affects performance and pricing. Applications that need more resources cost more to run.

Who maintains it? The developer listed for the app maintains the Clouve packaging. For the underlying software itself (WordPress, Moodle, etc.), support comes from the open-source community and the application's own support resources.

Tips for choosing an application

For websites and blogs: WordPress is the most mature and best supported option. If you have a technical team that prefers a different CMS, contact your Clouve administrator.

For customer relationship management: SuiteCRM is a full-featured CRM. Odoo is the better fit if you also need accounting, inventory, or HR features alongside CRM.

For internal training: Moodle is the most widely deployed open-source LMS in the world, with an extensive plugin ecosystem and a large support community.

For file sharing: ownCloud provides Dropbox-like functionality with full data control, which suits organizations with compliance requirements.

For surveys: LimeSurvey handles everything from simple feedback forms to complex multi-language research surveys.

When in doubt: Contact your organization's Clouve administrator or reach out to support. They can help match your needs to the right application.
